Once or twice in a persons life they come across technology that is so unique, so powerful and so disruptive that it literally alters the landscape in which it operates. I am going to tell you about such a technology and the amazing opportunities that it unveils.

First of all I would like to set the context for us to look at this opportunity and that context is
“what happens to people by age 65 in this country, the USA , the richest country in the world?”

It's actually quite discouraging:

• 36% are dead by age 65; they didn't even make it.
• 54% are dead broke; they are living on social security or some dwindling retirement fund.
• 5% are still working for a living
• 4% are well to do, these people saved some money, have a second home and are able to live comfortably. They might have made 3 or 4 million dollars. They are the couple you see strolling on a beach in the American Express advertisements.
• Only 1% are considered wealthy. In America today, the definition of tat term is 10 Million dollars exclusive of all debt. That means they had to make 20 Million before taxes

As I look at these percentages it seems almost impossible to achieve that 1% wealthy. I certainly did not want to emulate the dead people and I did not want to be broke or still working at age 65.

The key to becoming wealthy is to emulate that wealthy 1%. How did they make it and what did they do?

The information on how the rich made it is contained in a report called “The New Interagency Report”. This report collects statistics from 7 different federal agencies that are looking at Americans over 65.

Of the 1% that achieved wealth:

• 1% were athletes or entertainers
• 5% were super sales people
• 10% were CEO's or directors of public companies
• 10% were professionals like the top Doctors and Attorneys.
• 74% made it by starting their own business.

Now I look at the list and I cannot sing or Play Basketball like Michael Jordan I am not a CEO, Doctor or Lawyer and I cannot sell. So what could I do?

Let's just agree on something before we continue, It is absolutely impossible to become wealthy if you are working as an employee for somebody else. If you are honest with yourself, you will realize that there is a line of people waiting to do your job for about the same pay you are making now if you're not willing to do it anymore. Your boss is not going to pay you 20 Million Dollars so you can pay 50% in taxes and Join the 1% of elite individuals that have made it in life.

It's not going to happen!

The Answer is to own your own business.

Now there are several types of businesses. There are small businesses, Restaurants, Stores, Franchises, Distributorships, Brokerages, Stocks, Real Estate. There are literally thousands of businesses that could be a vehicle to building wealth. Now, Every time you get into a business you are looking for leverage. You want to Hire people and pay them less that the money they make you.

In starting a business its like picking up a two edged sword. One edge cuts up and that is what we call leverage. The other blade cuts down and we will call that risk. So in every business there is Upside but you also have downside. And in most businesses, a lot of downside risk. In fact, according to the Small Business administration, over 90% of all businesses fail in their first five years leaving the owners in debt, broke and working the rest of their lives to pay off that debt. Over 90% of these businesses cut down more often than they cut up.

There is only one business that I am aware of where that blade can only cut up and that business is Network Marketing. Network Marketing done right, professional and in a way that is palatable to professionals is your ultimate fairy tale but networking done wrong is your worst nightmare.

You might Love Network Marketing or you might have a bias against it, but I can assure you that this opportunity is done right, it can be your fairy tale!

In looking at a business there are five key points you should evaluate. If this business is not for you, that's fine, It's not for everyone but if you are determined to become wealthy then I suggest you continue reading and really give this opportunity a chance. Evaluate this business with me using these five key points.

1. Proprietary Intellectual Property. You need something that you can do that nobody else can do. It must be protected by Patents and preferably international or Global Patents. I want to be able to go to market and say “I can do this” and nobody else in the world can do it. That's the key to grabbing the attention of entrepreneurs.
2. You need big trends in the economy. You need trends that create demand for your products. You can have the greatest intellectual property in the world but if there is no demand; who cares!
3. You have to have great consumable products. They need to be highly consumable. If the items are not highly consumable then the odds of creating a residual income are almost nil. The consumer must come back for more and often. You need a product that delivers value and the consumer is driven to buy again and again.
4. You need a great company. You better have a company that has a track record. They better be innovative and have good management.
5. You need to be in the right vehicle. You can have all four of these requirements met but if you do not have leverage then you are stuck working for a paycheck month to month until you retire.

Point Number 1 - Proprietary Intellectual Property - Innovation
Let's look at companies like Merck or ATT. They have the proprietary information, They have trends feeding their business, they have great products that require the consumer to continue buying the product month after month after month and they have superb management. These companies are great, they are profitable and they will be around for a long time.

The problem is that they CANNOT offer you leverage to grow your business. All you can have is a job. You will never get wealthy working for these companies unless you are the CEO. They are missing point #5.

Most people have struggled to make it in business and it can be very frustrating. The good news is that it's not necessarily you; it might be the vehicle you are using to achieve your wealth. You need leverage. It may be that you have never been in the right vehicle before. You might not even know what you are capable of until you place yourself in the right financial vehicle.
